The Blendon Bulletin - January 10, 2008
We hope your new year is off to a great start! Please see updates on our current projects and information on upcoming events below.
Chairlift Installation Completed
We have completed the installation of the chairlift for the main stairwell leading to the lodge room. This is a significant accomplishment for the lodge and many thanks go out to those brethren who voted to support this effort, the trustees who researched our options and to Brother Noel for his personal efforts in ensuring a timely installation.
Brother Noel will provide guidance on the usage and safety of the chairlift prior to our next stated meeting on January 21st and also at our next monthly breakfast on February 2nd.
2008 Inspection Season Signups Still Needed
We have almost all installations covered by at least one brother, but would like your help to double up attendance where we can. We have posted the 2008 Inspection schedule for the 14th district, along with current attendance sign-ups, at the following web address: http://blendon339.com/inspections.html
This year, the 14th district will be presenting a new inspection banner to all lodges that achieve 100% inspection attendance. If you can, please help us reach that goal by reviewing the list of dates and contacting Brother Bernardin (Email: mark@freemason.com ) to sign-up and represent Blendon at one or more of the 14th district inspections.
January 21st, 2008 – Stated Meeting
Please join us for our next stated meeting. We have had great attendance at our pre-meeting dinner (starting at 6:30pm) and would love to have more brethren in attendance. As stated above, we will be giving instructions on the usage and safety of the new chairlift prior to the meeting start.
February 2nd, 2008 – Monthly Breakfast and Historic Lodge Cleanup
As a reminder our next monthly breakfast is scheduled for Saturday February 2nd. Please come out and enjoy our 2nd Breakfast of the year. We have had great turnouts and hope to continue this trend throughout the year. Remember that this event is open to the public and guests or potential members are more than welcome.
We will also be looking for help to organize and clean-up the historic/small lodge room. We have some bookshelves to put back together, pictures to re-hang and lots of dust to collect. Any help in cleaning this up prior to our annual inspection would be appreciated.
February 4th and February 21st, 2008 - Stated Meetings – Opening in the EA degree
For our stated meetings in February, we will be opening and conducting business in the EA degree. We have scheduled the conferral of the EA degree on a new candidate for the meeting on the 4th and may have another to complete during the meeting on the 21st.
Fraternally,
The Officers of Blendon Lodge #339
